Proxy Sniffer free edition is provided at no cost and can be used for an unlimited time to run small performance tests against your web applications. The free edition contains almost all features of the professional edition: (download here)

Support for recording of web surfing sessions using any webbrowser, including Internet Explorer, Firefox and Safari.
Support for easy handling of dynamically-exchanged CGI and HTML form parameters such as .NET VIEWSTATE, JSESSION or order numbers.
Support for XML, SOAP, AJAX, JSON and WebDAV.
Support for Input Files which can used for any purpose; for example, for assigning login accounts to HTML forms or to modify the query data of XML requests.
Support for all major HTTP Protocol Extensions: client-side caching of network connections (keep alive), automatic handling ofcompressed response data (gzip, deflate), automatic processing of session cookies, and the upload and download of files.
